Life often throws us curveballs, leaving us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and joyless. During these challenging times, it’s important to remember that happiness is not solely dependent on external circumstances but can be found within ourselves through God. In this blog post, I’ll share three powerful strategies that have helped me find joy even when I felt stuck. By regaining a heavenly perspective, focusing on what I can control, and celebrating tiny victories, I’ve transformed my mindset and rediscovered the joy that I have access to. Read on to discover how I find joy when I’m stuck.
Regain a Heavenly Perspective to Find Joy
When we feel stuck, losing sight of the bigger picture is easy. By regaining a heavenly perspective, we can shift our focus from the immediate challenges to something greater. Here are a few ways to accomplish this:
Connecting with God daily can bring comfort and clarity in difficult times. Prayer and meditation help us gain a broader perspective and remind us that we are part of something larger than ourselves.
Cultivating an attitude of gratitude can transform our outlook on life. Despite feeling stuck, there are always things to be grateful for. By focusing on our blessings, we shift our attention away from the negatives and open our hearts to joy.
Nature can remind us of the beauty and wonder that God has created. Take a walk, sit in a park, or spend time outdoors. By immersing ourselves in nature, we gain a sense of awe and reconnect with the magnificence of creation.
Control Something Within My Control To Find Joy
Feeling stuck often stems from a sense of powerlessness. To counteract this, it’s important to identify and take control of aspects of our lives that are within our reach. God has a plan for you BUT he also gives you the freedom to follow that plan and freedom in your daily life.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.Ephesians 2:10
Setting meaningful goals provides a sense of direction and purpose. Break down larger goals into smaller, achievable tasks to maintain motivation and progress. Working towards something within our control boosts our confidence and allows us to find joy in the journey.
Our daily habits shape our lives. We take control of our well-being by building positive habits such as exercise, healthy eating, reading, or prayer. Small, consistent actions add up, creating a sense of accomplishment and increased joy.
Celebrate Tiny Victories
When feeling stuck, it’s crucial to acknowledge and celebrate even the smallest wins. Recognizing and appreciating these tiny victories cultivates a positive mindset and helps us break free from the cycle of negativity. Here’s how to do it:
Keep a Success Journal: Create a journal to record your accomplishments, big or small. It could be completing a task, overcoming a fear, or learning something new. Don’t forget to record how God is answering your prayers. We often forget ALL of the things that our God does for us! Reflect on these victories regularly to boost your confidence and find joy in your progress.
Share and Celebrate with Others: Invite loved ones to join in your celebration. Share your victories with friends or family members, allowing them to uplift and support you. Likewise, celebrate their accomplishments, fostering a joyous community.
I have a friend that we share “golden nuggets” with one another. Whenever we are in a time of struggle or feeling stuck, we seek to find the golden nuggets in the day. We hold each other accountable and help one another find positive times in the day. It is amazing how many golden nuggets you can find if you are willing to look.
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Our God is a God of celebration! As you read through the Bible, you will see that the Hebrews celebrated frequently. Not only did they celebrate but they celebrated for a long time! Celebrate with God the big and small victories in your days!
